METAIRIE, La.--Dallas advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup tournament with a 3-0 win over the A-League's New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers Tuesday night before a crowd of 6,269 at Zephyr Field.

Jason Kreis gave the Burn a 1-0 lead just before halftime, scoring off an assist by Temoc Suarez. Dallas put the game away in the second half, scoring twice in a span of four minutes. Mark Santel found the net in the 70th minute, and Gerell Elliott scored in the 74th minute. Dante Washington assisted on Elliot's goal.

Garth Lagerway went a full 90 minutes between the pipes to earn the shutout for Dallas. Lagerway recorded six saves.

The U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals will take place Aug. 13-21 with the eight winners from round three advancing.
