ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.--Ted Eck scored two second-half goals, leading the Dallas Burn to
a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Stingers Sunday night in a quarterfinal game of the U.S.
Open Cup tournament.
Dallas' Damian and Dante Washington scored a pair of goals in a span
of two minutes in the first half. Eck's goals in the 69th and 84th minutes put the game
out of reach.
David Deck scored Chicago's goal unassisted in the 63rd minute.
A crowd of 3,810 was on hand at Forest View Park in Arlington
Heights, the home of the Stingers of the USISL's D3 Pro League.
Dallas advances to the semifinals of the tournament, to be played as
a doubleheader Sept. 3 at Stagg Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of the
Pacific in Stockton, Calif.
