BURN AND CHIVAS BATTLE TO 2-2 TIE DALLAS - The Dallas Burn and Chivas of Guadalajara played to a 2-2 draw on a cold, rainy night at the Cotton Bowl. Tonight's match was a physical one, which included 20 fouls for each team and a combined five yellow and two red cards. After each team struggled for scoring opportunities in the early going, it was Dallas that had the best opportunity of the half, with a near goal in the 45th minute. Jason Kreis sent a through ball to Oscar Pareja down the right flank. Pareja dribbled into the box and, with only the goalkeeper to beat and Ariel Graziani open in the middle of the box, sent a low shot just wide of the left post. The Burn drew first blood in the 54th minute on a nice build-up from the back. After Burn defender Lubos Kubik intercepted a pass, he sent a through ball to Jason Kreis, who was all alone down the right flank. Kreis sent a low, driven cross into the box for a streaking Ariel Graziani. Graziani took one touch to settle the ball before slotting it into the lower left corner of the goal. The Burn was dealt a blow in the 65th minute when midfielder Richard Farrer received his second yellow card of the match. Chivas would make good use of the man advantage just five minutes later as Ryan Suarez was called for a foul in the box on a Chivas cross. Second half substitute Benjamin Galindo converted the penalty kick to even the score. Chivas made it 2-0 just three minutes later, with Galindo again factoring in the scoring. Galindo sent a free kick into the box, which was flicked on by the head of Carlos Hermosillo into the lower right corner of the goal. Dallas struck for the game-tying goal in the 82nd minute on a perfectly placed goal by Kubik. Graziani was fouled just on the outside right side of the box, setting up a free kick. Kubik sent a left-footed bender over the wall and into the upper right corner of the goal for the final 2-2 score.
