87th minute - The game resumed after a 1 hour 20 minute weather-related
delay. Dallas scored a second goal in the 87th minute to stretch the lead to
2-0. Lazo Alavanja from Martinez, 87th minute. Minnesota, playing shorthanded,
was unable to climb back into the match.
The Dallas Burn advance to face the Chicago Fire in
the quarterfinals - a matchup pitting the 1997 champion (Dallas) vs. the 1998
champion (Chicago). Attendance in Minnesota was 3,110 in unfavorable conditions.
