Positives: a win over a team desperate for playff points... Negatives: boring, flat performance without any emergy, imaginiation, or pace.  The old and slow Revolution defense should have been no match for the Burn offense, but yet the Burn didn't dictate play.  Joe-Max Moore was again the best player on the field.

The Burn 11 vs. Los Angeles.

LA is good, no doubt about it.  They will be playing for the Western Conference Title, and Dallas is playing for 2nd place. This should be a cracker of a game.  Dir should play the best team avaliable.  For our money that means Dade in back, Zarco on the right, Daniv on the left, and Santel on the bench; but it won't hapen

Still would like to see a 4-4-2, damn it.

This is a team with lots of talent and depth.  The main players are set, but don't be surprised to see Zak Ibsen, Steve Jolley, Joey Franchino, Seth George, Daniel Haernandez, or Clint Mathis.  LA plays the flowing 4-4-2 of Real Madrid with Ezra Henrickson getting forward in the Roberto Carlos role.

3rd Degree's 4-4-2

With Alvarez gone this makes even more sense.  Rather than seeing Eck on the field or going with the rookie Lazo (who does deserve a shot) the 4-4-2 fits into our talent and depth.  Using Dir's choises, we look tactically just like Manchester United.

The 3-5-2 of next season...

Dir loves a 3-5-2... So if he's still here we predict the following...

Kreis

Graziani

Lazo / Broome

Deering

Zarco/ New Player

Daniv

Pollard

Farrer Zarco / New Player

We think Dir cuts or trades Trellez and/or Dodd for a right back or a d-mid.  Lazo or Broome on the Wing, 3rd Degree predicts Lazo either starts on the wing or begins to get a lot of playing time in offensive-mid.  Keep in mind there will be another first round pick. Santel and Eck will either retire or ride the pine.  In MLS you want all your forigen allocations playing in the first 11, which is why Trellez is gone next year.

Another possibility is that Farrer returns to right back and Dir finds a new sweeper.
