A win over what is obviously the worst team in the league. They do have a good coach, some new talent, and a lot of injuries; so they could put it together at any time. Props should go to the Burn for not letting it be against them. That being said there should have been some changes as the Burn looked pretty poor a ttimes. Dade was apparently in the dog house for missing the game Saturday, although one can't complain about Daniv getting another start. Broome should have been in for Santel from the beginning. Another forward in for Pareja late seems to be a pattern these days. Eventually 3rd Degree wants to see Lazo in for Pareja late, the kid has earned his shot and needs some PT; after all he is the future since Pareja is what, 31... The 11 vs. The Mutts
The Burn 11 vs. Gals August 14th.
Trellez gets the nod again after his goal. You score you start... Daniv is playing out of his mind and should be in again. Since Zarco seems to be only a right side player in Dir's System, he'll probably stay at right back for Dade. He probably could use the rest, but Dir usually plays him no matter what. Dade should start at right back, he has been playing flawlessly and deserves his spot back. That leaves a Dir dilemma on the Zarco/Daniv issue but that's what he gets paid for. Broome deserves a start but Santel will get the call. Maybe Daniv can play on the left and Zarco on the right. 3rd Degree still believes that the Burn should be 4-4-2 (or 4-3-3). Probable Gals Lineup Now this a team with loads of talent. Not as deep as they were 2 years ago, but still a tough opponent. The loss of Machon was catastrophic in the off season, but they are starting to turn it around. Overall very dangerous. LA actually lines up in a 4-4-2 but flows into a 3-5-2 just like Real Madrid (and like 3rd Degree suggests for the Burn). Hopefully Carlos Hermosillo will still be hurt.
3rd Degree's 4-4-2 Since we brought it up again here is the Burn in a 4-4-2. To be played just like LA, Manchester United, and Real Madrid with a shift to 3-5-2 during play when a back gets forward.
It's not necessary to play too wide in a 4-4-2 if your fullbacks can get forward. Both Pollard and Zarco can and do get forward fairly effectively. Real Madrid lineup in a 4-4-2 but Roberto Carlos gets so far forward they really play a hybrid 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 that fluctuates depending on the situation. It can look like 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 or 3-4-3... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
